Meet the 2024-2025 Executive Board

  • Hannah Rice

    PRESIDENT

    Hey there! I'm Hannah Rice, I am your 24-25 President and a proud student at UMKC wrapping up my bachelor's in Music Therapy and Psychology this May and so excited to dive into my internship at Cornerstones of Care come June! This is my second year on the board, where I also excelled in the role of secretary. Can't wait to keep serving our awesome student community in the region! Let's make some magic happen together!

  • Mia Sparks

    PRESIDENT-ELECT

    Mia Sparks is currently finishing her undergraduate degree at University of Missouri-Kansas City and will be starting her internship at Operation Breakthrough in the fall. Mia grew up playing guitar, piano, and violin, as well as singing and writing their own music. She was previously the VP of the UMKC AMTS organization and is excited to get involved on a regional level. Outside of music therapy, Mia loves performing on stage and at their local renaissance faire, watching Critical Role, playing D&D and Stardew Valley, and making their own costumes and props to bring to comic conventions. She is very excited to be working with such an amazing community of music therapists and cannot wait to see what the future has in store!

  • Grey Stuewe

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Grey is currently a graduate equivalency student at Colorado State University and will be starting their internship at Springfield Psychiatric Hospital in Maryland starting in September! They hold two bachelor’s degrees in music and psychology from Seattle University. Grey’s primary instrument is cello, and they have been featured as a studio cellist on a few of their friends’ albums! They also write their own music, and have been a songwriter since they were 14. This is Grey’s second year as VP for MWRAMTAS, and they are passionate about maintaining a meaningful social media presence for our regional student organization. They also identify as queer and are passionate about creating spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community within the music therapy field.

  • Megan Westphal

    SECRETARY

    Megan is a second-year graduate equivalency student at Colorado State University with two Bachelor of Music degrees in Voice Performance and Orchestral Instrument (Violin) Performance. She is a current Co-president of The Body Project at Colorado State University, an inclusive student organization focused on developing healthier body image and self-esteem. In addition to being a student, Megan also enjoys providing music for a local assisted living and two memory care units in Fort Collins, Colorado. Megan enjoys advocating for mental health, making art, traveling, drinking boba tea, acting in productions, and dancing ballet! As a future music therapist, Megan looks forward to the possibility of helping individuals with mental health and medical conditions.

  • Kelsie Lemon

    TREASURER

    Kelsie holds a BA in Music Therapy and a BA in Psychology from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She will begin her internship this year at Advent Health in Orlando, where she will be working with the hospital population! Kelsie's primary instrument is violin, although she plays guitar more now. This is her first year on the MWRAMTAS board, however, she served as the treasurer for UMKC's AMTAS chapter from 2023-2024. She is excited to be joining the board for the year!

  • Danielle Weber

    PARLIAMENTARIAN

    Danielle is currently a Graduate Equivalency Student at CSU. She received her Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She taught general music, band, and choir on the eastern plains of CO for several years and ran her own private piano/voice studio before deciding to pursue her Master's in Music Therapy. She is also deeply passionate about advocating for children with disabilities and currently works as a substitute teacher for Intergrated Service programs in the local school district. Born and raised in Colorado, she is deeply connected to the lifestyle where weekends are spent exploring the mountains no matter the weather. She began piano lessons at the age of 6, and when she is not exploring the woods, she can be found at the piano playing whatever she can get her hands on as well as bothering her cat and husband.
